**This is a list to get your brain rolling, there are others that are viable, remember NOT “pedia” sources!!
How to vet a source:
- Look at the end; does it have a .edu or .gov?
- Look at the ABOUT/CONTACT LINK
- Do they have a PHYSICAL ADDRESS? Like an office that we could go to with questions?
- Do they have bios for their writers that you could see?
- Are they affiliated with OTHER Approved Sources? (EX: NASA, the Smithsonian, etc)
- Do they have credentials (like are they a doctor or something like that?)
- Still not sure, Tag Mrs. Reed with THE WEB LINK on the OFFICE HOURS Channel & what you have already done to vette this source!
NOTE: Approved ROOT SOURCES below WILL BE DECLINED if it has a /blog, or /opinion, or /editorial in the rest of the web address.
HOW DO I RESEARCH ON THESE SOURCES?
- Go to Google.com
- Put in your topic (or logical synonyms) & the ROOT SOURCE
- EX: Need for arts funding CNN
- EX: Elective Budgets in Schools NPR
This type of researching will give you back articles from the Approved sources!
Many of these sources have sub sections like Sports, Entertainment, Politics, World Affairs, Money, etc.
