AICE GP Day 13-Demystifying the GP Exam

Today we discussed the varying Prompts and Essay Styles of the GP Exam.  On the 1 Day Paper (Essay) test the students will select from 12 different prompts in 3 categories and narrow it to 2 essay topics, selecting 1 only per section. We are going to be working on our 1st Expository Writing next week, students need to pick THREE of the following possible topics (they will end up writing on ONE):

  1. What qualities should a good doctor possess? Give reasons for your selection.
  2. Which natural attractions in your country are in greatest need of conservation? Give reasons for your choices.
  3. Which foreign culture most appeals to you? Give reasons for your choice.
  4. What do you consider to be a ‘good read’ and why? Refer to at least two novels with which you are familiar.
  5. Explain the popularity of designer labels.
  6. Which mathematicians do you consider have greatly influenced the modern world? Justify your choices.
  7. What kind of music do you find most appealing? Give reasons and examples for your choice.
  8. Why is fast food popular when it is generally considered to be unhealthy?
  9. What is the role of libraries in today’s world?
  10. In what ways can the use of modern technology improve learning?
