AICE Day 18-PSAT Wrap Up, GP Prompt Detailing & Proper Thesis Statements

Today was a busy day! We started with our CNN STUDENT NEWS for Oct 12, then discussed over their upcoming writing for the 1st GP In Class Essay as well as what makes a proper thesis.

The PSAT is Wednesday, some students are still struggling with the proper use of a semi-colon as well as how to discern Active versus Passive voice. I have included a few tutorials here to help (simple is sometimes best):

this-hedgehog-is-cheering-for-you-because-you-can-do-anything-quote-1Also there were some questions as to the timing of the PSAT on Wednesday, you will report DIRECTLY to your Homeroom and then the test will span 1st & 2nd Period, the remainder of the day will be the typical schedule. “Current PSAT Guessing: There is a quarter point guessing penalty for missed questions. “If students answer a question correctly, they earn a full point; if they omit it, they receive zero points; if they answer incorrectly, they lose a quarter point).Mar 2, 2015″  When in doubt, try to narrow to a 50/50 on your responses and then select the best of what remains.
