ALL CLASSES! State of the Union Address

Please view the State of the Union address on Tuesday Evening @9pm on most broadcast networks or online (https://www.whitehouse.gov/sotu) during or after the live speech.  We are looking at this ONLY as a structure argument, please take notes on the following:

  1. Use of Argumentative Appeals (Ethos, Logos, Pathos)- E,L, or P in the left Margin of your notes and a short quote/phrase to match it
  2. Points of InterestI in the margin of your notes if there was a topic brought up that was a point of interest for you (such as college tuition prices, etc).
  3. Use of supporting Facts and DetailsF or D in the Margins if you feel the point was well supported
  4. Points argued not well supportedS in the margin to denote a point that you feel needed additional support

We will be having a STUDENT LEAD Socratic Seminar in class Thrusday & Friday to let them discuss what points of interest arose in the State of the Union address and what facts, details, and appeals were used to support these points.
