AP Lang-Today was a great discussion on the Visual Arguments that bombard us daily, from attire to the places we shop to the advertisements in magazines, appeals are everywhere. The students are transitioning from visual to print by taking common house rules and writing a set of letters:
- Complaint to a Friend Letter-complaining about a common house rule that they have an issue with; should be approximately a page long, on the front of a piece of notebook paper.
- Persuasion of a Parent Letter-attempting to persuade a parent to change a rule of the house per the argument of the student; should be approximately a page long, on the back of the notebook paper containing the Friend Letter.
HL–Boy Who Harnessed the Wind Chapter 3 & Journaling, completion of the 2 letters for analysis next class.
Eng 3 Honors-Today the students worked on the Final Product for the Devil in the White City Group Project; any group that did not complete it should be wrapping it up as their Home Learning. Notebooks were also collected for a mid quarter organizational review.
HL-Completion of Devil Project Paragraph/Works Cited & Boy Who Harnessed the Wind Chapter 3
AICE GP-Today they submitted Lit card #2 as well as the in class card: FOIL, they had time to work with their TOAFK Project Groups for presentations next Thursday. They also received their September Calendars.
