AP Lang-Today we reviewed the AP Writing_Rubric in preparation for the 4 Paragraph re-write of the America Needs Nerds Prompt:
- Intro-2 Sentences (General Statement addressing the Prompt and the Thesis)
- Body Paragraph 1-Revision of previously submitted Paragraph
- Body Paragraph 2-Additional extension of 2 additional details to support the author’s argument (state the Author’s Purpose)
- Conclusion-2 sentences again addressing WHAT THE AUTHOR Wants ending with a “thought to think on.”
Writing Reminders: Use the Language of the devices (“The author logically builds the argument that America must glorify intellectuals…” NOT saying “the author uses logos…”). Please read (DO NOT COPY) the nerds-student-sample-paper-1-annotated before submitting your revision to TURNITIN.COM by Sunday @11:59pm. I will be reviewing & grading them online so no paper copy is needed, we will start building your online portfolio. Remember to use your MLA TEMPLATE as you are writing this essay.

English 3 Honors-Completed the BWHTW CH 9-12 Written Assessment & the additional portion of the PSAT Packet today and took home the study guide for the weekend, make sure to review the math section as scoring well on the PSAT next week could mean NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP MONEY!

Any resubmits are due back NO LATER THAN Monday after school, this is an IN TUTORING opportunity only, they may NOT take them home to work on it as it tends to lead to the same isues.
