AP Lang-Today they met with their NF Novel Teams in Preparation for the Presentions next week, also reminded that they need to be wrapping up their reflective Essays:
Written Component (65 points total) DUE SUNDAY TO TURNITIN.COM:
Each individual in the group will write a 500-word life application essay (include a word count with your paper). (65 points)
It should answer questions such as…
- What did you learn about yourself from the book?
- How can you apply these lessons to your life?
- What experiences of the author are similar to your own?
- Which are different?
- How was reading this book beneficial to you?
Also, I will be ordering the AP LANG Sweet 16 T-Shirts over spring break so if you were interested in getting a team shirt please complete the Google Form:
English 3 Honors: Today they wrapped up their presentations and submitted their NOVEL DATA SHEETS (Still Need from Animal Farm) as well as they finished the majority of their Prezis.
Multimedia Research-Based Technology Presentation (Group)
The culmination of this project will be a Prezi presentation in which you immerse the class in the world and times of your novel. As we get closer to the time of these presentations, each group will sign up for their desired dates during the week of 3/6-8. I both expect and encourage creativity and ingenuity in the design of the projects. The more engaging and entertaining, the better. However, please remember that it must also be informative.
To be more specific, the presentations must establish both the biographical and historical context of the work you have chosen. You must also include the following:
- Brief introduction to your book. Tell us about the author, the setting, the characters, the plot, and the conflict. Do this as engagingly and creatively as possible.
- Analyze the theme: explanation of what this topic might mean, how it effects the overall book, and what other connections can be made
- One Written/Spoken word item which relates to the theme of your book and explanation as to how.
- One Visual which relates to the theme of your book and explanation as to how.
- One connection to another literary work and explanation as to how (outside this project)
- One connection to modern event and explanation as to significance.
