Tuesday

  • Dear AICE: GP students,img_4815Congratulations!  You made it to the most important day of your GP career…exam day!  Now it’s time to show Cambridge who’s boss…here are your final words of advice as you get ready to take on “the best of times”-yes, that actually alludes to Tale of Two Cities…J. Tell yourself that you are READY for this test.  Enter with confidence…OWN IT! Take your time and strive for excellence; don’t just race to the finish line, QUALITY is key, so make your stride shine! Make good decisions when it comes to prompt selection and style; do what feels comfortable! BREATHE…you are GP certified! 

    Treats:

    • Cheez-its-to be cheesy-you guys own my heart, I know you can do this!
    • Double Bubble-Chew up those prompts & get to writing
    • Starlight Peppermints-fresh ideas-I know you have them!
    • Lifesavers Cool Mint-feel like you need a lifeline; BREATHE in with them-let the cool thoughts flow
    • Fruit Snacks-think of how you have grown this year as a write, you are ripe & ready!
    • The Glow Wand/Light Saber (as you choose) because seeing you guys transform this year lights up my life and now I know you will light up the page with inspiration J

    You can wrap your light around your wrist or just keep it glowing next to you….it means, Mrs. Reed has the utmost CONFIDENCE in you…it means, she is behind you every step of the way…it means, she is beside you when you start to panic a little…it means she is right in front of you to brag to when you finish a job well done…it means, SHE CARES FOR YOUR SUCCESS.  Make me proud, but most of all, take pride in yourself!!  GOOD LUCK, GP SCHOLARS!!!

    Students completed BOTH the AICE General Paper Exam as well as the EURO History Paper 1 Exam. Mrs. Scrimsher & we are both SO PROUD of you!

Wednesday

  • In class we started working on Life Skills-Resumes (See Link Above) as well as how to peroperly address letters. We also reviewed the End of the Year Advertising Project as well as the remaining Google Calendar Due Dates.

Friday

  • LAST LIT CARD FRIDAY! Students submitted their last Lit Card of the Year, we also completed the following:
    • Syntax
  • Tonetone-words-1-728
  • Dramatic Monologue Cards

Homework for the End of the Year

  • Due Tues 5/15
  • Due Thurs 5/17
    • Final Allusion Card Submissions-Reminder Week 12 is 3 Stories=3 cards
  • Week of 5/17-5/18: If you HAVE NOT DONE a Lit Card, this is LAST CALL in Tutoring for FINAL SUBMISSION Points
  • Wk 5/21-25: Interview Day TBA per confirmation from Interviewer
  • Due Fri 5/25: Final Lit Card Collection
  • Due Wed 5/30: ALL Exam Advertisements uploaded to Turnitin.com (See link above under GP Page)
