Day 90 (B)-Figurative Language Analysis in Children’s Books

      And then you will play “Vocabulary Roulette”:

      1. Take 1 of the Dictionaries on the Desk (Share if needed)
      2. Fan/flip through (stopping at RANDOM
      3. Close your Eyes
      4. Run your Finger down the left or right page and RANDOMLY stop
      5. Record the word your finger stopped on in your Vocab Dictionary (4 additional Words today)

      Continuing our Analysis of the Kids books today (We start creating on Thursday!)

      1. Pick a Partner
      2. Pick a Book (Either a favorite you have already looked through, or a new one)
      3. Read the books ALOUD to each other (2 books on the chart)
      4. Work together to Fill in the Devices Chart, try to find 3 per book
      5. Pick New books and repeat the process (total of 4 books on the chart now)
      6. Last, chat with your group to see what books/devices they found and fill in missing devices on your chart for Book 5 (Put Book title in Parenthesis)
