AICE Day 10: AQ War Essays 1st Draft

Today we looked over the All Quiet on the Western Front Essays, based on what has currently been submitted we will doing a SECOND DAY OF REVISIONS Monday & Tuesday next week.  Currently students should be fixing the following issues:

  1. MLA Formatting (Please click link for the OWL Purdue Writing lab for the most up to date information on MLA)
    1. Page Number & Name at the top (see image in blog post below)
    2. Double Spaced
    3. 12 PT Times New Roman THROUGHOUT
    4. Name, Teacher, Class-Period, Date (Day-Month-Year) at the top left
  2. Leading in to all Quotes, having them flow WITHIN your discussion, not at the beginning of the sentence. (See Example Below)Quotes in an essay paragraph
  3. Writers should use the 3rd Person perspective throughout (no I, me, my, mine, we, our, us, etc.)
  4. No Contractions
  5. Please have 3 specific elements in your thesis (Look at the AQ War Essay Full Details for the fill in the blank thesis.)
  6. Highlight your essay AFTER it has been printed, again, see the handout for highlight colors.

  • 9/23-B Day Character Cards (Please bring 5 5×8 Cards to class for this activity)
