Moving into the new round of Lit Cards, we discussed Literary Foils today for them to apply this as they are reading Of Mice & Men. George & Lennie are 2 of the classical literary foils of the American cannon of literature and can be used to see similarities in films and other readings that students complete.
*B-day also began the Allusion workshop this week with a pair of Foil characters as seen in the story of Cain & Abel. We will continue to pair these Allusions and Literature analysis examples as we go through the remainder of the year.*
We are also continuing our grammar study through a series of “Caught ya'” Bellringer activities as selected from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. These Bellringers are structured from the data collected during the 1st Qtrs use of Noredink.com and to help correct any additional struggling areas. Writing conventions are an expectation on the FSA Writing & GP Exams this year, as well as when they continue on through AICE Language & Literature.
