Welcome to the 4th Quarter!
Monday begins the coundown of classes into the AP Exam on May 11th! We have a very busy 4th 9-weeks Daily Agenda B-DAY 2016, many prompts to review, passages to analyze, and essays to write; it is VITAL that students are in class DAILY, on time, and ready to go! I have seen FANTASTIC growth in the students and in their writing this year, I shared an exemplar essay of each of the 3 prompts that the students wrote in the 3rd quarter so they can see how to RAMP IT UP as we go into the exam!
One of main things that will help students to improve their writing and their comprehension on the AP Objective passages is by improving their vocabulary. We wrap up this week with the Cummulative Review of the Vocabulary Book and then we move into a more personalized way of studying vocabulary through Number2.com. This week the students should be registering:
- Go to Number2.com
- Click “New Users Enroll Now”
- Select the “Free SAT or ACT” & “Vocab” on the right side of the screen
- Complete the Registration form
- Add my email: reedr1@duvalschools.org as the coach
- Complete the “Start now” diagnostic for the Vocab
Reminders:
- 4/12: Achieve Week one complition on Achieve3000 (I will be checking these this 9-weeks, no submission to Turnitin.com). Be sure you are completing ALL Aspects of the article, questions, Stretch Activity, THOUGHT QUESTIONS!! (5-8 Sentences with support fromt he test!)
- 4/15: Cumulative Vocab Test & East of Eden Part 2 Journal & Quiz
