Today the students reviewed their Discursive Essays from the Topics that were posted on the Blog for planning over the weekend well before the writing day. Unfortunately, the students are still missing the proper level of Vocabulary (Conventions) as well as the Concrete Evidence (Content) expected for these essays. To prepare for their DOUBLE DAY WRITING Tuesday & Wednesday this week we have reviewed the directions ahead:

As well as they watched the CNN STUDENT NEWS for today to add to their Current Events Knowledge: http://www.cnn.com/studentnews/.
They should be thinking of things in the PAST & PRESENT, NATIONALLY & INTERNATIONALLY, as well as the PARTS OF THE HAND to really give concrete and specific details to their writing. They completed a Gallery Walk to add details to the prompts, after their team had brainstormed a list of possible items that could have been used for these essays. GP does reuse the themes of an essay, so they may come across these topics again:
