Day 27-An Inconvenient Truth & Instructional Rotations

AP Lang-This morning we delved deeper into our Documentary Unit of Rhetorical & Argumenational Analysis through Viewing An Inconvenient Truth (1st 30 Minutes of the Full Film)

If you were ABSENT, please see me after school BEFORE FRIDAY AS I WILL NOT HAVE THE DVD AFTER THAT to make up this missed item.

Eng 3 Honors-Today we continued our practice for the SAT & ACT through our SAT Questions of the Day Bell Ringer practice, everyone got this one right!! 🙂 Additionally we completed the following INSTRUCTIONAL ROTATIONS:

  1. Group 1: News of the Week with the Wall Street Journal, Cornell Notes, same Essential Question as the CNN Student News.
  2. img_3636Group 2: Writer’s Workshop with Mrs. Reed, we reviewed the proper way to fully complete an ACHIEVE 3000 Thought Question, peer & teacher reviewed one of their responses as well as I returned and discussed their INDIVIDUAL Student Response BWHTW Quizzes. If they earn a 1 in the gradebook this means that they need to see me after school for tutoring to remediate this quiz up to a possible 70%.
  3. Group 3: Book Club, completing the the-boy-who-harnessed-the-wind-journal-assignment-ch-1-4-handout (attached here), if it was not completed at this rotation IT IS HOMEWORK THAT WILL BE COLLECTED NEXT CLASS.

AICE GP 8B-Today was the TOAFK Part 1 Quizzes, they will be graded as soon as possible, I am currently focusing on Achieve and getting those scores up to date. Additionally they completed their Instructional Rotations:

  1. Group 1: News of the Week with the Wall Street Journal, Cornell Notes, same trace your hand and complete at LEAST 3 of the 5 fingers with approximatly 140 characters of information on the finger.
  2. Group 2: Writer’s Workshop with Mrs. Reed, we previewed the prompt for the CHIVALRY Essay, the handout they recieved today should guide their reading for the remainder of the novel..
  3. Group 3: Book Club, completing the character cards from part 1 to continue as they are reading in Part 2.
