Unfortunately due to my daughter’s illness I was out Wednesday & Thursday, we are hoping she is now on the mend. If you missed classes as well, this was what was completed:
- AP Lang 5B
- Students should read & take notes on their chapters for Thank You for Arguing (Sign-up Genius is on the AP Lang Page-they can use a class computer to sign up if needs be).
- Each person in class will be responsible for 1 slide in the class prezi on 1 of the original chapters in the Thank you for Arguing Text as well as you will be paired for the remaining chapters in Advanced Offense & Defense (and additional slide).
- They should take notes/plan the following (we will discuss it in class on Monday)
- 3-Specific details or Definitions for understanding of the concept of the chapter
- 2-Significant Quotes to help you USE these techniques in these arguments
- 1-Theme (# the chapter-not just the title already given)
- **MUST HAVE IMAGES (3-5) to illustrate examples from the chapter or that you can make an extended connection to the argumentative point.**

HW: Please remind them that Research Paper Rough Drafts are due on Monday!

- Students should complete the SAT PRACTICE PACKET 1, on the front student desk under the board. This should be timed at 65 Minutes, please collect them when they are done.
- After the SAT they should read in their Independent Novels
HW: Please remind them that Vocab 7-9 Review Unit is due on Monday, the Vocab 9 Quiz will be Monday as well.

- Sit with your Debate Teams,
- Things to turn in:
- Put their Journals in a stack on top of the class crate
- Date Stamp & Put their Allusion Cards in the class inbox
- Editing of their Argument Essays (on top of the 8th Period Blue Portfolio Crate under the window)
- Total of 3 Editors
- 1 from your team
- 2 from the ORIGINAL Team that Argued that debate (they should be trading papers across groups)
- Please see editing notes on the board.
- Essays can go in the class inbox when they are done.
- They may read in A Tale of Two Cities when they are done with the Essay Editing (Audio books on their phones are ok)
- Total of 3 Editors
