Day 108-Satire Wrap up/NF Intro, 1/2 Way into Dystopia, & the Discursive Essay

AP Lang-Today we wrapped up the Satire discussion from last class as well as they had time to meet with their teams for the Non-Fiction Novel Project. They were given a Novel-data-sheet to help to plan the Prezi for their projects:

Students will be presenting their Final Research paper Prezis (3-5 Min) on Thursday, some samples from the past (these were longer):


English 3 Honors-Today they submitted their Dystopian Novel Journals, took the 1/2 way point Quotes Quiz and were able to work with their teams to complete the 1/2 way point on the Plot slide, this should be completed by Thursday.


AICE GP 8B-Today we wrapped up the last Allusion card from last class, introduced Discursive Writing (Notes & Handout) as well as they were able to work on annotating their Sonnets:

Additionally the students were able to spend time analyzing their Sonnets, looking for:

  1. Vocabulary (Please define the words & highlight)
  2. Figurative Language (Please highlight in an alternative color from the Vocab)
  3. Circle the current punctuation (in Red)
  4. Please put a / for any thought/pause breaks that you feel pact the meaning of the piece (in Red)
  5. Add in Up arrows for any lighter/positive tones, add in a Down Arrow for any low tone/negative Inflections (in Red)
  6.  Complete the Paraphrasing of the Sonnect
  7. Complete the SOAPSTone for the Sonnet
  8. They were able to look through my art books for pieces of Classical art.
