Today was day 1 of the FSA Writes for all 10th Grade students, additional portions of the alphabet will be completing their writing tomorrow. Know that I am VERY PROUD of your growth this year, you climbed the steps to success! Best of luck to all students taking it tomorrow, I know you will shine!
AICE GP-In class, those not testing had time today to work with their peers on memorizing their sonnets, performing them in various portions of the room and getting to have a presentation by our fantastic Aviation instructor about the unmanned aircraft (drone) program we offer here at Mandarin as a Dual Enrolled class with Embry Riddle University. Students can take this class to become certified Drone Pilots as well as possible scholarship opportunities to cover 90% of their tuition!
English 3 Honors-Today they completed one of the NEW SAT Style Essay Prompts, this will be a 100 Pt Grade as well as we will be using it in our discussion of the changes in the OLD SAT vs the NEW SAT.
**Vocab will be collected THURSDAY with the Quiz as well as you will have time to work with your group on the next step of the Prezi. I went through today and left notes on ALL PREZIS in PINK for revisions, etc. Please make sure these corrections are done by Thursday & your Novel Data Sheet have the following portions COMPLETE:
- All Author Info
- Historical Background (you will base the current side off the articles I gave you in class today)
- Why did they write it when they wrote it? (Left side)
- Why is our reading of it relevant today? (Right Side)
- Setting (Time, Place, Time of year, etc)
- Plot Points 1-5 (7-10 due next week)
- Quotes 1-3 WITH Explanations (4 & 5 due next week)
- ALL CHARACTERS SHOULD BE DONE!!! (see notes on your Prezis)
