- The first and second slide would be dedicated for detailing my strengths, with the latter two focusing on my accomplishments. My accomplishments would detail my multiple first placements in the Jacksonville City Youth Tournament for bowling as well as several top 10 placements. I would also mention that I was the first certified trainer at the Chipotle I work at when I was just 16, seeing how “business schools focus on workplace accomplishments” (paragraph 9). Somewhere within the presentation, my several certifications would be mentioned as well. However, If creative PowerPoint presentations or slides were required for a job interview or college application, I would be a bit disappointed. I often find it difficult to be creative, so being required to be creative would cause me to “be turned off by the new requirement” (paragraph 10).
- “Schools” (Writing Assignment)
- Imagine a small town and at the center of the ton is an enormous building. This building is no corporate office and it’s not a mall, it’s a school. Contained within the multiple wings of the school is a massive courtyard, perfect for hanging out with friends. The east hallway boasts an auditorium large enough to hold most of the town’s population, making it an ideal place for town meetings. At the end of another, a large library can be found with books spanning every genre. The classrooms are spacious and designed in a way that make them seem less institutional-like and more unique.
When creating a school building that is larger than all other buildings in the town, it is evident that “residents placed great importance on learning” (paragraph 4). The residents cared about producing well-educated children and even went above and beyond by “hir[ing] an additional teacher beyond the one paid for by the state” (paragraph 4). Besides promoting school by making the school the largest building in the town, the townspeople further supported education and literacy within the community by “erect[ing] the county’s first free public library” (paragraph 4).
As a result of erecting a school building that is larger than all other building in town, the town can expect to have a literate, “educated young people” (paragraph 6). The younger generations will have a better chance when they are “in search of jobs” (paragraph 6) due to the community’s dedication to the education of the younger generations. Overall, the town will benefit from an increasing literacy rate as a result of more children going to school. Furthermore, the large school building will more than likely be the ideal place to host town meetings, as it is the largest building in town. However, as a result of having access to a good education, young adults may move away from the town in search of better jobs, rather than in the town.
