    • Write a poem in which you “defend” Jacksonville, Mandarin High, Florida (or another place that you may know well) against its critics.  Structure it as an argument where you address what “they” say, and then respond with what you know to be true.  You may write this individually or as a group effort, with everyone contributing ideas and each person writing the group poem on his/her own paper.   In addition to using apostrophe, your poem should have some evidence of catalog, parallelism, and personification (each labeled).  The poem should not have a rhyme scheme (free verse), but may have a few rhyming words here and there.
