Day 8 (B)-Writer’s Inspiration Dictionary begins!

    • Today we begin our Vocabulary Study, we are going to start with the 100 Most used words on the SAT-5 Words a Week. Then we will be continuing with: https://mrsreed.org/creative-writing/year-long-writers-inspiration-dictionary/ click on the link here for the Page Set up for the Address book that will be your own personal dictionary.

      You are HIGHLY encouraged to ADD MORE words to Your “Inspiration Dictionary,” but this is where we will begin:

      Week 1:

      1. abbreviate — (v) to shorten, abridge
      2. abstinence — (n) the act of refraining from pleasurable activity, e.g., eating or drinking
      3. adulation — (n) high praise
      4. adversity — (n) misfortune, an unfavorable turn of events
      5. aesthetic — (adj) pertaining to beauty or the arts

      I have 7 Additional Address books that I can offer to a student in need-note, this is not an “unprepared I didn’t get it in time but can afford to” person, this is a legit I’m not able to get one. Message me in the CHAT to reserve a book if you need one and I’ll put your name on it. Students without a Contact book have notes here to transfer to their books:


      Writing Check in: “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”

      1. Take the Piece of Paper and Fold hot dog & hamburger (both directions)
      2. Unfold it and write your name at the top RIGHT with your Class Period
      3. In the Top Left box write the sentence above in the normal way that you write everyday.
      4. In the Top Right Box PRINT the neatest handwriting you can of the sentence above.
      5. Lower Left box, write the sentence in CURSIVE, if you never learned Cursive write “I don’t know”
      6. In the Lower Right is practicing signatures: Sign your name 3 times and then put your initials.
      7. Put your paper in the inbox.
