  • Bell Ringer: Complete your 1st Creative Story using the SAT Vocabulary added to your notebook last class. Here are some reminders about grading:
    • MUST be original to you, any suspicion of AI creation will=0%, email home, and referral to Dean Jones.
    • 100 Words Minimum, approx 1/2 page but can be more
    • HIGHLIGHT the vocabulary in context
    • UNDERLINE context clues near the word that reinforces the understanding of the definition
    • Words can be up dated for plurality (-s or -es), can be past tense (-ed), etc. Make them WORK in the context of your writing.

    Discussion Board 1 UPDATED NOTES (ie, items for grade deductions):

    • Make sure that you are putting the Title of “Life After High School” in Quotation Marks as it is an Article and not a book that the Title would be Italicized
    •  “Quotes” from the text should not begin or end a sentence, they should “flow within the writing” as that section just did
    • Do NOT say the word QUOTE, we know it’s a quote as it has quotation marks around it
    • Ellipses … only need to be in the middle of what YOU are using from the text, it does not need to be at the beginning or end of quoted material as we know you are using only a portion of the text
    • QUOTES from the Text are 10 Words or LESS! Do not over use the passage, I am concerned about your analysis, I read the articles.
    • Review all capitalizations and spell-you are in high school-YES, this counts
    • When you have reviewed your post, made any necessary updates, REPLY AGAIN with an @reed (tag me) and put UPDATED at the beginning and I will delete the original. I will be grading these tomorrow 6th period so be sure to have any needed updates completed by then or the original will be graded.

    Discussion Board #2– Read the Directions on the Discussion Board CAREFULLY, all of the above notes apply and ORGINAL posts will be graded on this one, with no Resubmits.
