Vocab books have ARRIVED!!
This is a weekly “habit homework”, remember:
- Monday/Tuesday: Vocabulary Unit is DUE (This is from the reading in context passage all the way thru the 5 multiple choice questions at the end.) So Unit 1 is Pg 12-21.
- Thursday/Friday: The last class of the week will be the 25 question quiz over the words. I recommend studying the SYNONYMS/ANTONYMS in the book and being sure that you can USE THE WORD! Quizzes will never be based on simple definition matching.
- Study Aides include: Quizlit.com, as well as the thevocabularyworkshop.com is the website for the vocabulary book additional practice, STUDENT ACCESS CODE: VW12SFYRW83K.
All Quiet on the Western Front ESSAY!
In class we discussed the ALL Quiet Packets as well as the Prompt for the AQ War Essay, please click the link here for additional review and to complete the OUTLINE FOR THE ESSAY DUE 9/10-11. This essay will follow the The M6ET Paragraph Format for the Body Paragraphs. The majority of support & details should come from the All Quiet on the Western Front Novel; but you should have some additional support connecting to war now (Please check with MRS. SCHRIMCHER if you are using an alternative source than the ones linked below), please use the IN TEXT CITATIONS after any quotes you put in your essay or outline:
- The War in Afghanistan
- In Text Citation: (“Afghanistan”)
- The War in Iraq
- In Text Citation: (“Seven Years in Iraq: An Iraq war Timeline”)
- The War in Syria
- In Text Citation: (“Syria: The story of the conflict”)
- The Arab Spring
- In Text Citation: (“Arab Uprising: Country by Country-Egypt”) **for this one be sure to change the country if you are using a different one**
