Today we reviewed the expectations of Annotating a text, active reading is a vital, college bound skill. Students must be reading “with a pencil in hand,” if you can’t write in the book, Post-its are a must! If a student is actively engaged with the text they increase their understanding & retention of the material. Students should be looking for Character Changes, Plot Shifts, Figurative Language (Similes, Metaphors, Allusions, Alliteration, Hyperbole, Symbols, Imagery, Irony, etc), & VOCABULARY!!! You can’t get the overall meaning of a text if you don’t know what the words mean! Tutoring Hours are available every DAY (except Wednesdays)! We will chat over these devices!
