Today was a basic overview to Discursive Writing. This process is letting the students have an organic formula to the writing of this style of essay. They MAY write in the AABB (2 on 2 off) style of argument, but it is not the absolute requirement for this essay. They do need to address both sides of the argument objectively, typically coming to a side of the argument by the end of the paper. The structure here is a guide, to help give students parameters, but they should be discovering details in the writing. They should be combining the elements of Expository and Persuasive together to have an analytical discussion of the prompt.
We also reviewed the basics of the GP Exam structure:
- 2 Essays in 2 Hours from 2 different Categories on the Exam
- 12 possible prompts
- 3 different categories
- 4 Prompt Questions per category
- 3 different categories
- 12 possible prompts
