Today the students completed their quiz for Chapters 11-20 of How to Read Literature Like a Professor. This quiz will really demonstrate the close reading skills they need for the upcoming FSA Reading at the end of April. Seeing key words and themes in passages help the students to connect to the Main Idea and Author’s Purpose in the piece.
Sonnet Presentations are continuing, a few reminders from the packets I have seen so far:
- MLA Head Pg 2 (the one with your Sonnet on it)
- Paraphrasing Should be right next to your sonnet (see previous blog post about using the insert table method)
- The Cover Page of the Packet SHOULD NOT have a Page number, Check the box on the header tool bar that says “Different 1st page”
- Double Space the ENTIRE PACKET, make sure that you have checked the “Add/Remove” on the Before/After Paragraph so that they both say “ADD”
- 12 Pt Time New Roman for EVERYTHING except the Creative Cover Page
- On the ANNOTATED WORKS CITED:
- ABC Order for ALL Sources
- Sonnet Citation should have the # of the Sonnet in the title “Sonnet 18”
- All words defined should have a separate citation for them and the DEFINITION in the annotation.
**See me AFTER school if you have formatting questions!**
