English 3 & Honors

Can’t believe we have gotten to the end of the year it seems like we were just starting to talk about the Post High School Readiness Project in October & now it is here! As we are not in the classroom I am narrowing it down to just the College Essay & a Cover Letter.

Rough Draft of your “Mini-Memoir/College Essay” that you started in Preview Last week.
- Needs to be a “Day in the Life”-When/Where/What happened, Why is it Important
- 300 Words Minimum
- MLA FORMATTED, please use the Template HERE: College Essay MLA Template
- DUE NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY 5/20 MORNING! I want to be able to give you feedback so that these are actually useful!
- Submitted to the TURNITIN: DHR WK 9-College Essay Rough Draft Slot
Final Copy of the Essay
- I should see differences, I will be giving feedback , please READ it and edit!
- 450-500 Words-Please check the prompts as most have a cap of 500 words but do expect that you giving full details
- Use the same MLA FORMATTED Template HERE: College Essay MLA Template
- DUE NO LATER THAN SUNDAY 5/24 as I need time to grade them!
Wrap up Cover Letter (due by 5/27)–Template HERE: Cover Letter Final Year End Review 2020, please focus 1st on the Essay, these are important!
- Be sure to use the Template, it is COVER LETTER BLUE just like we used at the beginning of the year for the “A Student” Letter
- Change the Name at the top from Harry Potter to YOUR NAME, Address & E-mail
- For the Character Traits Reference in Paragraph 3 See the INFOGRAPHIC Here
- For the signature at the bottom you can put in an image of your signature or just use a Cursive Font
- Upload to Turnitin.com NO LATER THAN 5/27 @6pm
Final Vocab Quiz-Will Open Friday on FOCUS and Close on WED 5/27 as that is the day grades are due (I will let you times soon).
