Hello!
It’s hard to believe that the year is almost done! Your students have learned and grown a great deal in this class and now is the time where they will be demonstrating all of the skills acquired. As the next several classes are CRITICAL, I wanted to send the full details of the project and the Timeline for Parents/Guardians to be able to discuss this project with their students.
Preview Attached, additional details HERE: https://mrsreed.org/speech-public-speaking-class-details/what-is-a-pecha-kucha/
WEEK 1
- We started this Monday 4/17, they selected 5 Potential Topics from the Attached list submitted on a notecard, or they were able to suggest additional topic ideas provided they were:
- Factually Arguable
- Researchable on credible websites
- School Appropriate
- Required some sort of change (they can’t argue status quo)
- Wednesday 4/19: They received their notecards back with highlighted suggestions from me as to presentations that I have seen go well and have a large variety of resources. Again, if they wish to select their own topics they have that option based on the above parameters.
- Friday 4/21: They will be selecting 2 of the 5 topics to start doing some preliminary research and will submit the 2 Topic Controversy to Turnitin.com by the end of class. They need to work diligently, but they will have the full period to work on this: https://mrsreed.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/research-step-1-2-topic-options-jane-smith-example.docx
